It is sadly reported that a Blasphemy case was registered in Green Town on 15th June at night where a 25 years old man named Ashfaq Masih was held accused of Blasphemy because he asked for his money from a Malang for fixing his Bicycle.
Ashfaq Masih is held accused of using derogatory remarks against Holy Prophet while, he says that he only said that I don’t know any Malangs, I ONLY KNOW CHRIST.
It’s a pity that the procedure of registering the case against some body held accused of Blasphemy remains the same. i.e. no evidence at the spot, no proof, just only one person who says that he heard something.
Brief History:
Ashfaq Masih is a 25 years old man, who lives in the area of green town Lahore. He have rented a shop for bikes and cycles fixing, as he’s a mechanic. On 15th June, at about 4-5:00pm in the evening he was fixing bicycles of the people a Malang came and he also wanted him to fix his bicycle as his tyre was damaged. Ashfaq fixed his tyre and demanded for the money against his work. But Malang refused to pay him and said that, I am Malang, a man of Allah, you should have some respect for me and do not ask money from me. Ashfaq said, I only know Christ and I do not know any Malangs, so if you are holy than you should take care of others and pay them for their work. Malang became angry and started shouting that this person have committed Blasphemy against our Prophet. This only slogan was enough to ruin the life of Ashfaq Masih as the crowd gathered immediately while somebody called the police. The Police of Green town Police station came and arrested the person and took him to the Police station. There they got the statements in accordance to their will, and sent Ashfaq to the Jail in judicial lock up.
The Voice’s Fact finding:
The Voice was contacted by the family and the team wen for the fact finding and for the help of the accused’s family. The Voice team reached the spot at about 8:00pm and went to Ashfaq’s house and asked him and all his family to leave the home before the angry people attack them. The Voice team provided the family a safe place and assured them for all sorts of Legal and Moral help and assistance they need.
The Voice team met a number of people from the neighbor-hood and asked them about the incidence. But people were scared to tell anything about the incidence. Many people showed ignorance about the exact situation. The Voice team talked to the Station House officer of the Police station Green town and he assured the team that Justice will be done rightly but right now he’s not in a position to say anything. Whereas the FIR was lodged by the owner of Ashfaq Masih’s rented shop named Muhammad Ashfaq along with four witnesses. Whereas the Malang who conspired everything is not found anywhere in the FIR.
The Voice team is making all efforts to find out the reality and to help the family and the persecuted.
