Rafiq Masih is a poor laborer, and used to work at a Brickkiln in Kasur. His family lives in Lahore and he used to come on weekends to his family. He was very efficient and somewhat educated as well therefore he was in the good books of the brickkiln owner Muhammad Mushtaq Cheema. But one of the accomplices of Mushtaq Cheema named Arif Mehmood did not liked him firstly because Rafiq Is a Christian and secondly because Mushtaq always gave him priority and also trusted him with his family and money, which Arif doesn’t liked.

On 28^th April 2017, one Christian worked named Munir escaped the brickkiln along with his family, but he was caught by Arif Mehmood and his accomplices. Arif’s duty was to take care of the laborers so that no one could escape the brickkiln. Therefore he brought the family back and tortured the man named Munir. He tortured him this much that he died. Arif and his accomplices made a story that Munir and Rafiq were neighbors and Rafiq killed him because he had illegitimate relationship with Rafiq’s wife. The police never hears the workers at the Brickkiln and they did not listened to Rafiq, his wife or Munir’s wife’s version and they made a case against Rafiq for Murder and sent him to jail. They did not even knew that Rafiq is living alone on the brickkiln while his family is in Lahore. Previously Rafiq was in Kasur jail but now he’s transferred from Kasur to Lahore under regular procedure.

The Voice came to know about his story from another prisoner in the same jail who was already getting help from TVS. The Voice than arranged a meeting with Rafiq Masih and also with the family of Munir who are now living in Lahore. The Voice provided him free legal Aid. He is still in jail as his case is not decided yet.
